Description of the crowbar resistor:

Crowbar resistors are mainly used in low voltage traversing technology of wind power inverters. It is used on the rotor side of the wind turbine for bypassing the rotor side converter. When the grid low voltage disturbance occurs, to prevent the DC bus voltage is too high and the rotor current is too large. Mainly working in a fault state. Crowbar resistors can dissipate 80% of the huge energy instantaneously.
